is a town near the border of North Carolina and Virginia. One of the town's most enduring historical landmarks is the Aqueduct, an engineering marvel constructed as part of the original Roanoke Navigation Canal. Designed to bypass the river's dangerous rapids, this stone structure functioned as a water bridge. Although the canal eventually gave way to railroads and hydroelectric power, the aqueduct still stands today as a centerpiece of the Roanoke Canal Trail, symbolizing the town's origins as a critical 19th-century trade link between the Virginia mountains and the coast.

I drew inspiration from nature photography and local trails, specifically focusing on the arched bridge from multiple photos. For the color palette and typography, I referenced existing community branding, including the Main Street and School District logos, to ensure local cohesion.
My creative process began with pencil sketches before moving into Adobe Illustrator. Through several rounds of drafting, I progressively simplified the imagery until the final design was achieved. Below is a complete guide detailing each element of the logo.
